Job Title:CATI SUPERVISOR


JOB SUMMARY: The CATI Supervisor will assist the CATI Manager in setting the vision, direction, and culture of the team members. The span of management will range between 15 – 20 temporary and part-time employees. The primary role of this position will be to provide the coaching and leadership needed to ensure every CATI member is able to meet the productivity standards established for the position they are assigned to. The supervisor will also be responsible for cross training employees.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise staff at the CATI center with an emphasis on assessing performance, managing work assignments, and mentoring
  • Assist in hiring and training the interviewers
  • Evaluate the performance of CATI staff consistently and fairly, and provide feedback in a timely manner so staff may fully understand expectations and adjust behavior to improve performance
  • Participate in strategic planning of the department, including capacity and productivity
  • Ensure that all CATI employees adhere to the established work schedules
  • Set productivity goals and works with employee towards attainment of those goals
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to CATI interviewers
  • Assist the manager in developing corrective action plans
  • Demonstrate an interest in team members through establishing and maintaining open lines of communication
  • Develop relationships within the supporting business units to help resolve related issues
  • Effectively interact with team members with diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Assist in developing work schedules (break, lunch) to maximize workflow
  • Assist the CATI manager in additional duties as identified

WORK COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • A minimum of at least 2 years experience with proven management skills; CATI experience a plus
  • Strong administrative skills, including very strong skills in task and time management, personal organization, and setting priorities to meet all project and administrative needs in a timely manner
  • Ability to handle multiple and conflicting responsibilities, often under deadline pressure
  • Accuracy with work, strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with others

Job Title:STAFF ACCOUNTANT


The Staff Accountant works independently on several routine accounting and financial operational functions. These include various accounting functions in support of cost accounting, financial analysis, financial reports, general ledger accounting, payroll processing, tax form preparation filing and transaction processing. Other functions may include support for the budgeting process, and government contract accounting. The staff accountant should have a thorough understanding of accounting processes, GAAP, and demonstrate the analytical ability to advance to higher levels of accounting, if appropriate. Experience requirements include 2-3 years of accounting experience reflecting a progression in responsibilities and skills. Undergraduate degrees in accounting, combined with additional courses in finance are necessary to satisfy the educational requirements of the position.

A U.S Department of Education security clearance and criminal history background check will be required of all applicants.

Job Title:RESEARCH ASSISTANT II


JOB SUMMARY: The research assistant II will provide administrative and research assistance for various projects as assigned by project managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Perform assigned project, research, and administrative activities in a timely manner as requested with minimum supervision. Prepare written reports of work and assist in preparation of research, reports, databases, and analyses as requested following established procedures. Project quality and effectiveness must be accomplished. There will be times when job duties may require offsite/overnight travel with project managers who are assigned to specific programs.

Job Title:DESKTOP SUPPORT


JOB SUMMARY: This position focuses on hardware and software upgrades, maintenance, and desktop/laptop troubleshooting. Additionally, this position will require working with external/internal project related activities relating to all aspects of data protection, data backup policies, and other activities as assigned. Will require being able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work week will be about 25 hours.

The employee will assists the Information System Manager in maintaining the company’s hardware systems; providing computer support and assistance to all staff; assisting in ensuring client systems compliance with security policies; assist with the design and the development of DIR’s corporate site and intranet site; researching new ideas and software to implement and improve current client systems and processes; help maintain web/applications sites using WYSIWYG software such as Macromedia Software Suite (Dreamweaver and Fireworks); learn and support MS Access databases. Assist and troubleshoot phone system issues. Troubleshoot Printer issues.

Required Skills and other Qualifications:

This position requires knowledge of IT related areas such as: (windows (XP, 7, 2003, and 2008), software/hardware troubleshooting skills).

  • Must possess a comfortable level with the Window's Operating System
  • Demonstrate ability to learn technical concepts quickly
  • Ability to provide customer service and help desk functions
  • General problem solving and system troubleshooting skills are essential
  • Good time management and documentation skills are necessary

Job Title:Field Supervisor for National Longitudinal Transition Study


JOB SUMMARY: The NLTS is a national longitudinal study to investigate the experiences of high school students with disabilities and their transition to postsecondary education and careers. As part of this study, DIR will hire field staff (student assessors) to conduct assessments (including the Woodcock Johnson III) with high school aged students in various locations. The Field Supervisor will be responsible for managing student assessors to ensure successful, efficient, and compliant data collection in school districts and schools as assigned. For the NTLS, the school districts will be located in the southern and southwestern U. S. and California, with high concentrations of students in Florida, Georgia, Texas, and California. This is a temporary, full-time position beginning in February 2012 and concluding in June 2012.

A U.S Department of Education security clearance and criminal history background check will be required of all applicants.

THE FIELD SUPERVISOR

  • Assists with the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of student assessors
  • Serves as the study liaison to school staff as assigned
  • Directs and coordinates the field efforts of student assessors
  • Ensures high quality standard of tasks completed for the study
  • Effectively uses information technology skills to pursue project strategies and helps to ensure study objectives are completed on time and on budget
  • Provides technical assistance and quality assurance for field staff as needed

Job Title:Senior Study Director

About DIR

Decision Information Resources, Inc., (DIR) based in Houston, Texas, is a nationally recognized research organization with expertise in conducting research to evaluate federal, state, and local programs. The focus of the firm’s work is to collect and use data and information to help policymakers and program providers identify significant issues and evidence-based strategies to improve outcomes in education, health, employment, and youth and community development initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Direct medium to large (multi-million dollar) projects and/or components of large and complex projects, with a focus on primary (survey) data collection.
  • Provide supervision and methodological direction to project staff so that work is accomplished according to client specifications, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Design, develop, and implement innovative survey data collection.
  • Lead business development activities.
  • Develop and write proposals, including budgets.


Required Experience and Expertise

Ph.D. preferred, in social sciences, statistics, or a related field. A Master’s degree with appropriate relevant experience would be considered.

Five years minimum experience in positions of increasing responsibility in survey research or a related field; experience should include designing and directing large-scale survey data collection projects as well as developing proposals.

Advanced knowledge and expertise in the principles, processes, and survey research methods and implementation, including instrument design, sampling, direction of web-based and telephone surveys, and processing, manipulating, and analyzing large survey data files.

Additional Requisite Skills

Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently. Must be able to handle multiple projects with multiple deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and quality. Must be able to collaborate with and work well with diverse staff and clients.
