and Human Services, and Labor & Economics. DIR's expertise in each area is summarized, and selected projects that illustrate the variety of DIR's experience in each
area are described.
Children and Youth
DIR's experience in the area of children and youth ranges from the assessment of school readiness programs for preschool children to comprehensive evaluations of labor
market outcomes for youth and multiyear studies of school-to-work programs for at-risk and out-of-school youth.
DIR provides communities and organizations with services that range from studying the climates of organizations by surveying employee diversity, collecting statistical and
demographic data for minority businesses, and evaluating the appeal of a community facility.
DIR provides invaluable services for its clients related to consumers, markets, and demographics. We provide customer satisfaction surveys, needs assessments, and demographic
and market analyses.
In the field of education, DIR has conducted a variety of research projects, such as a study of post-baccalaureate participants, a measurement analysis of student achievement, and
an evaluation of postsecondary preparation, regional educational laboratories. We have also evaluated school-to-work grants and programs funded by Title III.
DIR's experience in the area of health and human services includes an evaluation of a program for unwed parents, a survey about a cancer awareness program, a study about
certification for school lunches, an evaluation of an alternative
process for food stamp certification, and an assessment of Medicaid transportation services.
Labor and Economics
DIR has extensive experience in labor and economics that includes providing support to government programs and comprehensively reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating such programs. We also provide
technical assistance and training for workforce development programs while tracking their continued services to program participants. DIR's technical assistance to workforce development programs
also includes database development. Additionally, DIR assesses and measures the economic impact of workforce development programs in communities throughout the United States.
